Taking place in England the owners of the yard slowly kept adding sections to the contraption so when the squirrel learned one section and got the nuts, they’d add another section. It took over 2 weeks to get to the final product you see in the video.
I live in Los Angeles. Today at a park, my bf and I saw a small critter pop in and out of a hole in thr ground. It was the size of a hamster, it almost looked like a guinea pig if it were hamster sized, but obviously a wild animal. It was brown, had a darker dun stripe (but nothing striking like on a chipmunk), and had either no or a very tiny tail. We watched it for several minutes, it would pop halfway out of the hole, stuffed its cheek pouches with grass, then dart away and come back for more. From observing the surrounding area, its behavior looks to be, make a hole to the surface, harvest the surrounding grass, fill in the hole and then make another exit hole.
What is this animal?
